Transforming Lives with Accessible, Affordable, and Effective Therapies for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Conditions
Joyful Journeys was born out of a need for accessible, evidence-based support for families with neurodivergent children in Kenya.
As a certified behaviour analyst and parent of a neurodivergent child, Joyful Journeys’ founder Diana Ayoo understands the challenges families face in accessing quality, affordable care.
Our mission is to bridge this gap by offering empowering training programs based on proven ABA principles.
Joyful Journeys emerged from a critical need in Kenya for accessible, evidence-based support for families with neurodivergent children.
As a certified behavior analyst under QABA and IBAO, and a mother to a neurodivergent child, Diana Ayoo has experienced firsthand the challenges Kenyan families face in accessing quality, affordable care for their children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
In Kenya, the scarcity of behavior analysts and limited awareness of ABA therapy have created significant barriers for families seeking effective interventions.
The lack of formal ABA study programs in the country has further exacerbated this shortage, leaving many families without access to crucial services.
Additionally, the limited understanding of ABA therapy among health practitioners and insurance companies has made it difficult for families to receive proper recommendations and financial support for these interventions.
Our mission at Joyful Journeys is to bridge this gap by offering empowering training programs based on proven ABA principles.

By focusing on parent and caregiver training, we aim to create a sustainable model of care that extends beyond the limitations of one-on-one therapy sessions.
Our goal is to equip families with the tools and knowledge they need to support their children’s development effectively, even in the face of resource constraints.
Through Joyful Journeys, we’re not just providing therapy – we’re fostering hope, empowerment, and positive change for neurodivergent children and their families across Kenya. Join us in our mission to transform lives and create a more inclusive, understanding society for all.
We aim to:
- Increase accessibility to ABA therapy by providing affordable, high-quality training programs for parents, caregivers, and educators.
- Raise awareness about the effectiveness of ABA therapy in addressing core deficits associated with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.
- Empower families with practical, evidence-based strategies they can implement at home, fostering independence and improving quality of life for their children.
- Collaborate with other therapy providers, such as occupational therapists and speech therapists, to offer a comprehensive approach to care.
- Advocate for greater recognition and support of ABA therapy within the Kenyan healthcare system and insurance industry.
- Build a supportive community for families of neurodivergent children, combating stigma and promoting acceptance.
